Fundraisers and galas, such as the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST) annual gala in Chicago, can combine multiple events into one larger event to serve several purposes and audiences.

The annual Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST) gala in Chicago draws around 1,500 participants. In moving to a virtual event, participation was extended globally to allow for more attendees, including people and families impacted by Angelman syndrome.

We built a full virtual environment of the Hyatt Regency hotel, where the gala is normally held, with details right down to the place settings on the tables and avatars of attendees using submitted images. The gala was simultaneously broadcast in four languages.

Three different events were integrated into the larger gala, including a networking event, live fundraising event with virtual bid paddles and cocktail hour. The result was $2,261,160 million raised in support of the organization’s causes.
